Below are the questions we are most frequently asked about our company and the career assistance we provide for executives and professionals.

Are you a recruitment or placement agency?

No. We are Australia's first and leading career management firm. We help executives and professionals achieve the career outcomes they are seeking and are unable to achieve using 'standard' methods such as approaching recruitment agencies or search firms and responding to advertisements.

More fundamentally, we help our clients identify, target and obtain the roles that will fully engage them and maximise their levels of contribution and satisfaction.

Do you assist people with fundamental career change?

Yes. A major part of our work is supporting and guiding our clients through the critical stages of career reassessment and change.

How much time will I need to invest and for how long?

That depends on your objectives. For an executive or professional in today's market, a career move usually involves a number of months and needs to be seen as a project, with a systematic approach and appropriate milestones. Any attempt to 'shortcut' the process is likely to be counter-productive. The work can broadly be divided into two phases - Preparation and Implementation - and is typically conducted over a period of months.

Preparation normally requires a number of weeks spent in developing the awareness, tools and skills that make the difference between being 'market ready' and wasting time/dissipating energy with a scattergun approach.

In the Implementation phase, ongoing coaching and support are coupled with assistance in developing connections to proactively research your market while maintaining a sound profile as a potential opportunity rather than an unfocused job seeker and enabling key people to become aware of your brand and value proposition. 

Will I receive help in developing a quality contact base?

Yes, in the way that will best serve your future.

We do not solicit employers on behalf of individuals. To do so would effectively turn us into recruiters and fatally undermine our ability to facilitate the superior outcomes our clients seek. The core purpose of our work with you is to empower, equip and enable you to realise superior career outcomes. To achieve such outcomes, you will need to connect effectively with key people and develop these connections into productive relationships and further connections. 

We maintain an extensive mutual support network comprised of our alumni and clients, and you will have direct access to this network when you become market ready. We will guide and coach you in creating and developing authentic relationships with people who can help you reach your true career goals. 

Above all, we will equip you with the strategies and techniques to effectively implement the vital skill of developing and maintaining a high quality contact base, now and throughout your career.

I really want to advance within my current organisation. Can you assist me in seeking an internal promotion?

Yes. If your current employment situation holds the potential for advancement, we can work with you to develop a strategy that enables you to progress your career in a rewarding manner with your current employer.

Do you work with people other than executives?

We work almost exclusively with executives, managers and professionals, and our methodology is designed to facilitate career breakthroughs for those in fields that typically attract significant competition. Our services are most effective for those who understand the importance of proactivity and the value of focus, systems and commitment. If you do not see yourself as being an executive, manager or professional yet nevertheless approach your career in this way, we would be happy to discuss how we might be able to assist you in achieving your goals.

What about issues of my career direction?

We will work with you to deepen your awareness of your transferable skills, what you actually want from your career, and how you can transform newfound insights about your career direction from concept into reality.

Am I right that I will have to do a lot of work?

Yes. Developing the career you want requires careful preparation and systematic, focused implementation. Failure to do these things is the major reason why so many people are unhappy in their careers. We are here to support you in moving ahead on the path of self-actualisation. If we were to do the work for you, no internal development would take place and you would remain disempowered and able to be used by others for their purposes rather than following your own deliberately chosen course, no matter what job you might gain.

Do you assist with personal development?

Certainly. Where relevant, we help you develop the skills and confidence necessary to take your career to the next level. Personal growth and development are central to successful career transformation. Career management is all about developing the skills to get you there.

So what is the cost of your services?

Our fees vary widely depending on individual needs. This can best be determined by arranging a free consultation with one of our senior consultants.

Considering the outcomes our clients achieve, be it a higher paying position, a shorter and more productive search time or a fantastic career opportunity, most of our clients do not look at our services as a cost but rather as a wise investment in their future. The career management skills we help you develop are ones you will take with you throughout your career.

Do you provide Outplacement services?

We do provide outplacement services but do not actively pursue this market. Outplacement services tend to be quite limited in their aims, and a focus on outplacement would tend to dilute our primary focus which is to support people seeking a higher level of control of their careers or even to transform them, e.g. through a change of direction or a breakthrough to another level. Where a position is being made redundant, many of our clients find that their employers are prepared to direct the funds allocated for outplacement services to working with us, and we are happy to operate in this manner.

Do you provide services by phone or Skype?

Much of our work can be done by phone or  Skype and we are happy to work in this manner where it can meet the needs of  our clients.

I think I’ve tried everything. How can I know this will work?

Many of our clients have come to us with  the same perspective. It’s a good starting point.
